I really ought to keep this journal updated... but there isn't much to say!  I am whiling away my days by reading as much on Homer's 'Odyssey' as I can.  At least, I have started with Homer, but I am rapidly being sidetracked by floral epithets, lyric poetry, Greek perception of colour...  Then, of course, life has a habit of getting in the way of reading.  :)  In any case, I need to come up with a topic for my Honours thesis before the semester starts in March.  It's somewhat restrictive...  The classics department is in a state of flux, so I haven't met my supervisor, a new lecturer, yet.  Even though I spoke to my favourite lecturer about

AELIAN - Historical Miscellany, Chapter III So then, a clever creature was a kind of Egyptian frog, which surpassed other frogs by far.  For if a frog encounters a water snake in the Nile, placing a piece of reed in its mouth sideways, it carries it and clamps its mouth shut (lit: holds its mouth closed) and, by its strength, does not let go.  So the snake is at a loss as to how to swallow the frog with the reed itself.  For the snakes can not get their mouths around so great a thing by themselves, so great is the reed that lies between.  And because of this, the frogs prevail over the bodily strength of the snakes by their intelligence. I had a lovely day today, oh yes!  :boogie: AELIAN - Historical Miscellany, Chapter II Spiders neither know nor want to know the art or occupation of weaving, the gift of the goddess, Erganes.  Why ever would such a beast use such a thing as clothing?  But the spider's web is a trap, like a cage, for the things which fall into it.  And the watcher of the net keeps very quiet and seems motionless.  Something falls in, and the spider has a meal on whatever it is that fell in.  So many are the things which fall in, as many as the web can hold, and the spider has enough to dine upon. Thank you for joining :iconthewrittenrevolution:, we’re delighted to have you with us. Welcome to the revolution. :salute:

We’re quite a busy group. :aww: We just wrote a brand new article to let everyone know how the group is progressing. We also regularly post prompts and six word challenges for our members to try. And feel free to get involved in our contest! So check them out! :la: Also feel free to add us on Facebook and Twitter: @WrittenRevolt.
Oh my God! Does this mean my dear melodythelittlepony is back?
:glomp: It looks like it! I just read your last journal entry here, and I feel so similar! I've really missed deviantart. I have been writing a lot and scribbling a few drawings, but I've been so busy with university that I haven't been posting anything here. But when I came back and saw your beautiful drawings, I felt more inspired!! You're a marvellous artist, you really are! I hope that I'll visit dA on a more regular basis now. :)
Aww that's the best thing you can ever say to me! I've joined DA because of you so I'm glad I made you come back somehow! And I truly miss your pictures and poems!
